40 YEARS

July 21, 1967

2007
On Saturday night, Sherilyn and I went to Outback in San Angelo and enjoyed a quiet dinner, then drove home, watched TV and did laundry. As we ate, we talked about our 40 years together. Some thought we'd never make it. I guess to be honest, at times we thought we'd never make it. But one thing we had throughout our marriage was a common faith in the Lord and the realization of the promises we had made to Him. And through "thick and thin" the Lord's blessings kept being revealed to us, even in the "tough times." The richest blessings we have received from God are pictured below and we thank God first for each other and then for the precious daughters God blessed us with along with the wonderful Christian men they married and the six wonderful grandchildren we have who are being raised in the discipline and teaching of the Lord. I know one thing, I love Sherilyn more today than I did on July 21, 1967 and that love continues to grow.

Happy Anniversary!!! We were thinking of you on our flights...
40 years? I am proud of you both. Thanks for pressing on, forgiving, staying, and keeping your promise. Your faithfulness spurs us (me and Jeff) on as we learn how to keep our committment to each other. I love you!
