Granddaddy continues to make steady but slow progress. His therapy is going pretty well. We probably hadn't realized how weak this has made him, but he is trying hard and Sherilyn said tonight he seems to be looking forward to Royal Estates. He is really O.K. with the whole idea. He was moved into a private room at the nursing home and that's 100% better. The other room was so cramped and crowded and the guy in there with him was hot natured, and kept the room cold. Granddaddy nearly froze. We are taking him to Shannon Hospital on Monday to do a barium test on his esophagus. The therapists think he may be aspirating on the thin liquids. He has a "wet cough" but Sherilyn thinks its probably his bronchitis cough he's had for several years. He is not running fever, so there seems to be no infection. Anyway we're going to get it checked. I'll blog the results. He does seem to be getting stronger each day, and some of his dry wit has returned. As I was about to leave the nursing home today at noon, I told him good-bye and he said, "You needn't rush off."
-News Flash-
Wade just called from Abilene where Mojo is playing Abilene High for the district leadership. Mojo is rated #5, Abilene #6. Mojo won 28-21. Reeser called later and gave me the details. Mojo's really back. She said they were behind 21-20 with 4 minutes to go and Mojo drove for a touchdown, got a 2 point conversion and held the Eagles. PE Shotwell Stadium, (you know the high/school-college stadium with the grass parking lot) was packed to the max and it seemed like "old times". Wade was super excited. He has been truly converted.:-)

Thanks for the update on Granddaddy! I hate that he is struggling with healing from another break...but I am so relieved at his progress again. We talk about him and pray for him daily.
I love it when he says "Don't rush off." I can hear him say it. Everytime we leave his house.
Also thanks for the Mojo update. Sounds like "old times" for sure...though I'd prefer to call it "ealier times". I'm not really enjoying the word "old" these days. :-)
I meant "earlier times"... Sigh.
Old age kicking in, I guess.
