Blogging again. I can't get my bearings between this and Facebook. I guess both have their place. I wanted to just share a little of what is going on in our "good life" here in Odessa. Sherilyn continues to enjoy keeping Presley. And I enjoy coming in from work in time for lunch and the afternoon nap. Presley is growing like a weed, as are the boys. Bryson has "graduated" from therapy, having met all his goals in occupational and speech therapy. Cason is busy now with T-Ball and we take our turn taking him to practice and Cherise told us tonight that his first game is Friday night. Cherise continues to enjoy teaching Kindergarten at St. John's and Wade just started a new job two weeks ago for Cooper Natural Resources at a sodium sulfate plant in Loop. He has to drive an hour and a half each way, but it is shift work, and he gets overtime and will do much better than at his last job where he was on salary with no credit for overtime. Even with the extra for gas, he will be doing much better money wise. We are thankful for all our friends praying. Overseas, the Cashes are doing fine. We talked to Kinley on the 20th, her birthday on Skype. She is almost as tall as Cheryl. She turned twelve. The boys, Alex, Isaac and Silas were being their normal selves, hogging the "Skype camera." We had fun. Skype is a good thing. Silas turned 6 in January, Alex turned 10 in December and Isaac will be 8 in June. They are scheduled to come for furlough in July. We are so looking forward to seeing them and hugging them. I continue working as a safety training technician, I think that's my title, for a company owned by a friend in Crane. I stay busy getting up early to travel all over the oilfield to conduct safety meetings for small service contractors. Some of that includes training on two drilling rigs each month. Some meetings are as few as four in the company and some as many as 50 in 6 different companies. It is interesting and I have reconnected with childhood friends in Wickett and Monahans. I do facility inspections at two companies in Wickett. My time out there each month is bittersweet. Memories flood my soul as I drive around town and sadness replaces the memories as it seems that the town is in a state of dilapidation, at least many of the houses that were on my "regular route." But as I drive away, and am not faced with the reality of the delapidation, my mind wanders back to the "good times" of growing up in a small town where we were all like family. Two weeks ago, Sherilyn and I got to "stroll down memory lane" together in Monahans. I was asked to preach for the church on Sunday evening to fill in for the preacher who was on a "spring break" trip. We really enjoyed our time with the church there and worshipping with those who Sherilyn especially, grew up worshipping with. Sherilyn was baptized there, as I was, we were married there, and I was the youth minister there when Cheryl was born. When we drove into the parking lot, Sherilyn said, "We just drove through our house." The parsonage was move out some 20 years ago and it now is a parking lot. It was a good evening.
